This is a very weird idea and I doubt that it has any predictive value, but you never know.
It occurred to me that 43 and 41 are prime numbers. So who is number 37?
Richard Milhous Nixon.
Below the fold the rest of the prime numbered presidencies. It is a list of our worst.
2 John Adams. Defeated by Jefferson. Not really a mistake.
3 Thomas Jefferson. Served two terms. The best of this lot.
5 James Monroe. Served two terms. Not a mistake.
7 Andrew Jackson. Served two terms. Not a mistake.
So far not so bad is it? The single digit primes do not resemble the rest. Bear with me.
11 James K. Polk. Not renominated. Mexican War?
13 Millard Fillmore. Never elected, not renominated. Not on anyone's list of winners but one of the best on this list, who knew?
17 Andrew Johnson. Never elected, not renominated, and in fact impeached.
19 Rutherford B. Hayes. Known as 'his fraudulency.' Arguably never elected. Refused renomination.
23 Benjamin Harrison. Not reelected, on account of the Panic of 1893.
29 Warren G. Harding. Died during first term. Teapot Dome anyone?
31 Herbert C. Hoover. Not reelected, on account of the Great Depression.
37 Nixon again. This guy did at least win reelection. Resigned facing certain impeachment and conviction.
41 George Herbert Walker Bush. Not reelected. Recession. Probably the most capable prime president since Jackson. Helped whelp . . .
43 George Walker Bush. Renominated. Reelected. Not Impeached. Rats.
This is my first diary, help me out with the tags.
