Today Britain's Defense Secretary, John Hutton, confessed that Britain had taken two prisoners in Iraq and turned them over to the US for rendition to Afghanistan. In addition, Hutton
"apologized to MPs for the government previously providing false information and denying Britain's complicity in the controversial U.S. extraordinary rendition program, in which suspected terrorists were taken to prisons in countries with no laws against torture.
"I regret that it is now clear that inaccurate information on this particular issue has been given to the House by my department," Hutton said. "I must stress that this was based on the information available to ministers and those who were briefing them at the time."

I hope this is NOT going to be the end of the matter. We need to know if this man, who is still being held in Afghanistan, was tortured by the US, and if torture is still being used in prisons in other countries. I believe Obama when he says the US does not torture [anymore], but are the Afghans still torturing? We need to dig out what is currently going on at each and every black prison site.
We need every country to finally come clean on their part in this ugly matter so that we can finally make things right again and start to heal.
I would hope that Ireland is next to confess its great role in rendition, allowing perhaps hundreds of rendition flights into Shannon airport. By the sheer number of flights alone, I know Bush did not torture just a few people.
I also want to know why all the other countries accommodated Bush in this. I gather Ireland was threatened economically if they did not co-operate. Why did the other countries torture for us? Money?
