The right-wing attack on Barack Obama to purge people whose ideas don't conform with theirs continues. This time it is the dangerous Yosi Sergeant who held the all-powerful position of Communications Director at the National Endowment for the Arts.
Conflicting Reports has obtained a statement from the NEA -- believed to be part of a press release that is being prepared to announce Sergeant's resignation:
"On August tenth, the National Endowment for the Arts participated in a call with arts organizations to inform them of the president's call to national service. The White House office of public engagement also participated in the call, which provided information on how the Corporation for National and Community Service can assist groups interested in sponsoring service projects or having their members volunteer on other projects. This call was not a means to promote any legislative agenda and any suggestions to that end are simply false. The NEA regularly does outreach to various organizations to inform of the work we are doing and the resources available to them."
This all started with a confence call on national service conducted by the NEA. An artist on the call ran a tape and sent it to Beck who then portrayed the NEA as running a propoganda machine similar to that of Nazi Germany
The Washinton Times jumped on the bandwagon and helped the right-wing purge by throwing gasoline on the fire:

Sergeant was a key player in the Obama campaign. One can only wonder if what originally put this on their radar is that the man's name is YOSI -- very UN-American.
