Looks bad for coakley. This is a short diary.

The final Public Policy Polling survey in Massachusetts finds Scott Brown (R) leading Martha Coakley (D), 51% to 46%, an advantage that is within the margin of error for the poll.
Key finding: "56% of voters in the state think Brown has made a strong case for why he should be elected while just 41% say the same of Coakley. Even among Coakley's supporters only 73% think she's made the argument for herself, while 94% of Brown's supporters think he has."
A depressed democratic base can do this to a race even in bluest of places. If she losses it would be like democrats winning in Oklahoma with a liberal candidate..
Hopefully the national democrats get the CORRECT message over this race whatever the final results. Because if they don't learn and continue pissing on their base/supporters & call it rain (like their HC bill) it will not work out well for them in the future. I myself was a lockstep supporter of the democrats until they watered down this bill beyond recognition, it is just sad how things have changed for the worse in such a short period of time.
It DOESN'T have to stay this way though.. democrats have months to CHANGE and deliver on some big things before 2010. I would suggest passing the public option as standalone via reconciliation to fire up the base for 2010.
