Sometimes surfing the internet at work pays off.
Currently in the rotation on Apple's trailer website is this little gem (QuickTime required). Curious, I went further down the rabbit hole to the movie's official website.
I couldn't find much on the filmmaker, Ray Griggs, beyond his Wikipedia entry. What was more interesting was the film's "About" page, which included the following:
We have had the pleasure of getting great interviews from economic experts and politicians including:
Mike Huckabee
Stephen Moore
Michael Reagan
William Voegeli
Star Parker
Kenneth Blackwell
Edwin Meese lll
Thad McCotter
Newt Gingrich
Lee Edwards
Pete Wilson
Steve Forbes
Gary Bauer
Kate Obenshain
Chris Edwards
David M. McIntosh
Lila Rose
John Stossel
Allen Icet
Rob Schaaf
John Stossel
Tom McClintock
Chris Edwards
Andrew Breitbart (emphasis mine)
George Runner
Alison Fraser
(I emphasized Not-So-Breitbart only because I find it hilarious that he's touted as an "economic expert" (he must be, since he's not a politician) in a project aspiring to be a hard-hitting documentary, but shares the same casual relationship with "facts", "reality", and "the truth" that Breitbart does. Was Glenn Beck not available to explain to us how to create gold using only common straw and a spinning wheel?)
When I first saw this piece of flim-flammery on Apple, my initial reaction was to contact the company and request that such a bogus hack job be removed from their website. However, I took pause and then started writing this diary. The trailer said the film was scheduled for release in Fall 2010, so I encourage everyone to find out as much as they can about this film and also information that will expose the film for the steaming pile of BS that it is (I found this website in an effort to debunk the "Democrat=debt" lie). Because, in the end, that's how we fix our country's problems. Call me a Pollyanna, but I think every person, whether or not s/he wants Obama to fail, wants America to succeed. And if we keep telling the truth, eventually people will believe us (eat your heart out Mark Twain).
Thanks for reading. Please be gentle in the comments, I have a thick skin but it's my first diary ever.
