I have to confess that this is the first trip I made to RedState. I was just trying to see what their take on the tea baggers winning primaries. I came across this diary about the power of five for GOTV. I was quite amused by this and thought I would share it with DK. If you are brave enough to venture there here is the link to the diary. http://www.redstate.com/...
GOTV: How to Win an Election by using The Power of Five
I am not sure who laborunionreport is but I am a union member and would not ever be a part of redstate.
The premise for their GOTV is this.
If you’re the organizer/activist and want to build a voting bloc, start with five friends or family members who feel as you do and will help you with GOTV.
Ask each of your five friends/family members to recruit five of their friends or family members. If your five ‘recruits’ can recruit five of their friends or family members, then you have a voting bloc of 31 potential voters, including yourself.
It goes on to say that this can keep building like a pyramid scheme and pretty soon you have built a block of 121 voters. This is unbelievable that this is their strategy for GOTV.
I clicked on the link for the Concord Project which is the place I thought would be where you could phone bank but was surprised it was only links and videos.
This is no comparison to OFA. I have done some phone banking and will do much more in the coming months but we have the machinery in place to make it very easy to GOTV.
Just thought I would share my thoughts on the tea baggers GOTV.
Jack says GOTV! He is the boss.
