Yesterday the graves of my parents and my brother were cleaned and had fresh flowers on them and the whole graveyard was humming with people there to remember loved ones. We passed each other with our fresh potted mums and sprays of artificial flowers, nodded and went about the business of cleaning and speaking to the dead.
The wind chimes tinkled softly and I make note, my mother would have been 88 this year had cancer not taken her so long ago. I am also reminded that my brother died too young, but rejoice in the fact his sons are doing so well.
Grief is dulled with the passing of time, but on this day it comes back sharp and strong. I take time now to remember them and hope you remember your loved ones this week. Welcome to the prayer cabinet.
You know, this place use to be a prayer closet, but we downsized! It's still a caring low key place to leave your worries and concerns and to make a request for prayer and/or kind thoughts to be sent your way. If you wish to leave a request for a friend or family member in need--that's okay too.
