Melanie in IA said something the other day that I think is profound:
"Waiting for the President, like waiting for C&J in the morning... we are all eager for it, our bright shiny faces, anticipating..."

As usual, Melanie hit the nail on the head. Whenever something happens in the world, I can’t wait to see it through Bill in Portland Maine’s colorful prism.

In the kiddie pool I’ve met rontun, juslikagrzly, lamzdotes, weatherdude, Predictor, Austex54 and his partner Othniel, mango, fritzrth, birdbrain64, Schwede, psfinla, you, and in real life, some of the most colorful characters on Dkos: commonmass, who really is "even cuter in person", Mrs. Phil N DeBlanc, Phil N DeBlanc, who told me that I was supposed to “rec” comments and who once drove across Texas with me riding look-out to meet ajewella, kidjewella, tnichlsn, AndyS in Colorado, dalfireplug, Texas Blue Dot, Just Steve, Irish Patti, Bam Mac, and a host of other Kossacks. Phil listened to me sing my happy song, I’ve had the Time of My Life twenty billion times—just ask him.
Common Sense Mainer patiently taught me how to post pictures and it is in his name that I give a donation every Thursday to Netroots for the Troops.

This place is very important to me. Cheers and Jeers is important to me. I wait to hear each and every Cheer and you can believe that I tsk-tsk your each and every Jeer. I anticipate many more years of hearing your voices, giggling at your jokes.

And so, I've come here to write a pictorial diary of the faces, people, supporters who look just like you and me and with eager anticipation...are waiting to see the President.

I'll see y'all tomorrow night. [she whispers] And plan on having to sit at the bar and catch up to me in Rum and Cokes.
