Yesterday started out pretty hopeful. I saw snippets of Fox launching the "exclusive!! never before seen!!! sure to be the race's game changer" tape of Obama that was, like the Holy Roman Empire, neither Holy, Roman, nor an Empire. As news, it was as cold and stale as a baby's dirty diaper left out on a dresser overnight. They claimed the tape showed a very black, g-dropping gangsta Obama complaining about whitey. The proverbial angry black man.
This was so puzzling. Why in the frickin' world did Fox and Tucker Carlson hype this all day long with screaming sirens, flashing neon signs, and for what? Just to distract from the debates? But that didn't make sense. Why interfere with one of the biggest political events of any presidential campaign, just to try to show that Obama was indeed black, and try to paint him as angry.
I didn't get it. After last night's debate, I was pretty depressed and didn't get much sleep last night. But getting into my car this morning to drive to a work meeting, it dawned on me.
didn't get much sleep last night. I
And now I get it. I think. I'm just speculating, and I don't have any data, proof or even evidence. But it's the only thing that makes sense.
I believe that the Romney campaign worked hand in hand with Fox (yes, I know - what a shocker) to set up the angry black man meme because they knew, in advance, that Mitt Romney's game plan for the debate was to lie, and to lie about every single major part of his plan that he's been touting for the past 18 months.
We assumed that once he won the nomination, Romney would use the etch-a-sketch to move to the center during the campaign.
But the campaign developed a grander plan. They stayed to the right to shore up the support of their base, then, in one grand etch-a-sketch moment, they shook up the entire message, so that the 60 million people, many of whom have not closely followed the campaign, saw the Mitt that suddenly cares about those lowly 47%ers, the Mitt who is just too well versed in accounting to get hood winked into thinking our laws give tax breaks for moving businesses overseas, who tut tuts over people not having health insurance for pre-existing conditions.
Not one lie, but lie upon lie. Not just about little stuff, but about the basic, fundamental things the man claims to stand for.
And noooww, I finally get it. They knew Romney was going to lie, and lie big. And if Obama indignantly pointed that out, he would be the angry black man. The ground was already plowed and seeded, just waiting.
I don't write diaries outside of the genealogy & family history community. However, this just makes me sick.
I love Hunter's Dear Diaries. But I have come to believe that Romney is not robot-like, stiff, or awkward. He is immoral. Completely and utterly immoral.
