I know this is not a diary since it will be very short, I just did not want to hijack some other diary with my question in the comments since people are sensitive about that.
Now for those steeped in Senate procedural protocol, how long can a bill passed by the house hang around in the senate before being taken up? The reason I ask is that if you remember, there were quite a few good bills passed by the democratic house from the class of 2009-2010. If those bills are still valid and the Dems in the senate are serious about eliminating or seriously reforming the senate rules on the filibuster, would it not be possible to bring some of those bills to the senate floor for an up or down vote. Furtermore if the bills were passed as is by the senate they should be able to go straight to the President for his signature since they would need no reconciliation by the house of representatives and the senate. Where am I going off the tracks on this?
