I came across this in my hometown newspaper. It can only be reproduced in full, and for that I apologize:
There are two shows on television that I really miss. One is “Cheers,” and the other is “M*A*S*H.”

There's a rhythm to this letter, its two lines begging to be read aloud as one would read a Doctor Seuss book. Two sentences, lamenting the loss of television shows that last aired new episodes nineteen and twenty-nine years ago. Beautiful in its plaintive pleas for a simpler time, when advertisements consisted of arguments among children concerning cereal preference instead of an endless march of political ads of dubious provenance.
The comment section is similarly without irony, to my great confusion.
