For the Romney files.
The scuttlebutt behind this video is that a non-unionized assistant film editor with experience in the film industry was retained by the Romney campaign to assist with the production of this particular campaign ad. Romney's transition team apparently also advised him they would give him preference in applying for a media position in the new Administration should the GOP candidate win the election. His original work on the ad is what appears in the video below. However when the Romney campaign reviewed it, they re-edited the entire piece for dissemination to the public and unilaterally terminated his employment.
He then unsuccessfully shopped this version of the ad to various internet sites but was rebuffed. One site even went so far as to ban him. Eventually he turned to a former colleague in the film editing industry who provided a download of the original video to a friend in the production department at ABC who worked on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
Kimmel aired the original ad last night. As you will see, it paints a rather different picture than the current version.
