That's right folks.
Ted Cruz has lost Rick "Oops" Perry! You know. The tough-talking, boot-wearing, ultra-conservative, anti-choice, tea party favorite, RICK FREAKING PERRY!
You know that when you've lost wingnut Rick Perry, you've got a principled, nuanced, and logical argument whose merits can be debated in a reasonable fashion a very, VERY serious case of teh crazy™!
(From the yahoo interview linked above)
With a potential government shutdown looming in less than a week, Gov. Rick Perry of Texas said it would be “nonsensical” for his fellow Republicans to support any effort to bring government to a halt over the health care law.
“I don't think it's a good option,” Perry told “The Fine Print.” “There's still time to sit down and try to fix Obamacare.”
In an interview late last week, Perry stopped short of calling his fellow Texas Republican, Sen. Ted Cruz, wrong for leading the charge on Capitol Hill to defund the Affordable Care Act, but said it would be more productive to work toward putting “things into place that can fix Obamacare, like health savings accounts, like personal responsibility programs, giving states the flexibility to come up with programs that fit their populations.”
(emphasis mine)
I guess that makes Perry part of our evil socialist club in the eyes of super right-wing teabaggers.
Quickly! We need to do 3 things:
1. Welcome him to our Commie Commonwealth Club.
2. Send him a membership card complete with our evil, orange croissant symbol ASAP!
3. And the 3rd... uh... the EPA?
HAHA! In the interview, he talks about his Gaffe from Hell in the 2011 Republican Primary. That one gaffe required me to purchase some popcorn.
He also talks about his openness to running in the 2016 presidential elections! If he decides to run, I'm gunna need a LOT more popcorn.
I honestly don't have much to say about all this other than this:
With all this Republican in-fighting and eating of their own, I might bankrupt myself with the purchases of popcorn that I am going to need in the coming weeks/months/years...
Luckily, with Obamacare implementation just around the corner, I'll be able to afford both healthcare AND popcorn :).
(And I JUST turned 26 yesterday! Talk about good timing!)
Yay me! Yay schadenfreude!
