is that it's not about Hobby Lobby.
We've heard the blow-back from the right. The Hobby Lobby only objected to 4 forms of birth control. They pay for other forms of birth control. SCOTUS said this is only a narrow ruling. This is not a big deal.
Except it is. A Supreme Court decision is not about the case at hand and nothing else. A Supreme Court decision is the basis for law and how it is practiced in this country. When DOMA was overturned it wasn't just the IRS that took note of the ruling, every court in the land took note and have tailored their rulings accordingly. The Citizens United ruling didn't just affect the group Citizens United, it has affected every aspect of politics down to local races. To pretend that Hobby Lobby was just about four kinds of birth control is both dishonest and disingenuous. There have already been murmurs that 'closely held' corporations are claiming that they should be given dispensation to discriminate against the LGBT community based on their religious beliefs. Who know where this will end? But it was never about 4 methods of birth control.
