Turnout has been exceptionally high - the highest in any Scotland wide election since the extension of the vote to women according to the BBC.
I explored some of the consequences of this in a diary yesterday, Vote Will Be No In Scottish Independence Referendum The consequences for the constitutional settlement for England and the rest of the UK I described in that diary have now become active. Additional powers will be devolved to Scotland but Scottish MPs at Westminster will loose the ability to vote on exclusively English or English and Welsh matters.

The No campaign are about 85k votes from the actual finishing line

David Cameron is due to give a statement on new devolved powers and other consequent matters in about an hour. Labour spokespeople so far have indicated a willingness for a federal system within England but not English Parliament which Tory MPs want (both views for very obvious party political reasons)
