Nov. 1, 2004, on the eve of the presidential elections, I signed up for DailyKos. Somehow, in the craziness of everyday life, I managed to forget my 10th anniversary of (sporadic) participation on this amazing site.
In these 10 years, I've moved to two different countries and I've had 2 kids. I have always tried to vote back in the U.S. and in 2008 made the special effort to arrive and vote early, and to help on election day in North Carolina with GOTV. The evening of President Obama's election was euphoric for me, something I've never experienced, before or after.
I'm a sometimes commenter and rare diarist here on dKos, but I have to thank this wonderful site for helping me to translate my political thoughts into concrete action. That has always been the strength of the site, gathering like-minded folks to do something they haven't done before. I've met some wonderful people here, a few of whom are still active on the site.
Thanks, Kos, for keeping me around, even when I almost broke the site with margin racing...a few oldies here will know what I mean.
