“Today two of New York’s finest were shot and killed with no warning, no provocation,” Mr. Bratton said [NYC Police Commissioner William J. Bratton]
[...]
[NYC] Mayor Bill de Blasio, standing beside the police commissioner, said, “It is an attack on all of us; it’s an attack on everything we hold dear.”
Indeed. Most of senseless gun deaths come with
"no warning, no provocation" -- it's the part that,
makes them 'senseless' ...
... killing spree by killing 12 people inside an Aurora [Colorado] movie theater on July 20, 2012.
... a gunman opened fire on a Southern California college town [Isla Vista], spraying bullets from his car in a Friday night rampage that killed six people and injured seven others, including "several" students ...
Twenty-six people -- 20 students and six adults -- were shot and killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14.
On January 8, 2011, U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords and eighteen others were shot during a constituent meeting held in a supermarket parking lot in Casas Adobes, Arizona, in the Tucson metropolitan area. Six people died ...
The horrific
list goes on and on and on.
Welcome to the NRA-empowered neighborhood, Mr Bratton. We've all been living here for quite some time now. Now that some deranged person with a gun, has 'taken out' someone you care about ...
Maybe now you'll get the point. Then again, maybe not. You'll probably just blame the "usual suspects" ... ie. someone else who did NOT pull the fatal trigger.
As with all victims of senseless gun violence -- my heart and sympathies go out to the actual victims and their families, who will never be the same again after these crushing events, I know. So sorry for your losses, friends and families of Officer Ramos and Officer Liu. Sincerely.
Guns used for spite, rage or revenge -- are indeed “... an attack on all of us; it’s an attack on everything we hold dear.”
But such is the 'armed and dangerous' America we all live in, thanks to the NRA ... Those are just the Facts of Life Guns.
Despite the Fact that 74% of NRA Members themselves support the Universal Background Check -- something that might actually prevent the next senseless death, due to a deranged person with a gun. The next funeral. The next Birthday Party that will never happen ...
Unfortunately, America still has far too many of those NRA-empowered persons these days. So many that no neighborhood seems safe, not for a very long time.
You see, 'deranged persons' generally give us "no warning, no provocation" -- that's the impactful part of their Derangement M.O.
That's what makes this recurring American tragedy ... so hatefully dangerous. They usually come with no warnings, at all. ... And they always leave us with a Lifetime of pain and anguish, for anyone who once knew the victims.
