Twelve years and going strong! Everything has changed since I started Daily Kos in 2002, including my family. We are terrible at taking pictures throughout the year, so every holiday season we splurge on a fancy-schmancy photo shoot. It really is the only way we are documenting the growth of our family, and every December, it's a real treat to share some of the photos with you.
This year we were back in Alameda, this time at Crown Beach.
Ari is 11, Eli is 7. Both are stellar pianists. Ari is on a competitive travel soccer team, his one true obsession. Eli is obsessed with math and science. She got in trouble a few weeks ago because she covered the wall next to her bed in math equations. She wants to be a chemist when she grows up. As for me, I'm old enough to need reading glasses.
Head below the fold for a look back at previous years. And from my family to yours, have a great holiday season!
2013
In our front yard.
2012
At a windy Alameda Naval Air Base! Or at least what's left of the shuttered place.
2011
At the Sybley Volcanic Regional Preserve, were volcanoes once terrorized hadrosaurs or whatever other dinosaurs lived in the region ten million years ago.
2010
At the Albany Bulb.
2009
In our back yard.
2008
In front of our house, same as 2013.
2007
At a friend's wedding in Germany, Eli was three months old. We also visited my family in Greece. All that traveling with a three-month old? A little insane.
2006 and 2005
Lost years. No family photos. Did I mention that we're terrible at taking pictures?
2004
In Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley, taken by old-time community member Kid Oakland. Where the hell did that blonde kid come from?
2003
Best thing about my life right now? My kids aren't babies anymore. The heck with that shit!
