Turns out Eric couldn't wait to serve out his term in the House because he had a better job waiting on the Street. Wall Street, that is.
Former House majority leader Eric Cantor is joining a Wall Street investment bank as vice-chairman and managing director, the firm announced this morning.
And what will his new job entail?
It [Moelis & Co] will use Cantor, 51, to help it compete for business, according to the Wall Street Journal, which broke the story. He will also advise corporate clients on takeovers and “other deals,” the Journal reported.
What unique qualifications does Mr. Cantor have to fulfill this positon?
Cantor, a lawyer, does not have a Wall Street background, though he was considered a friend of Wall Street in Congress.
Oh I bet he was.
So we can all stop worrying about what poor Eric was going to do now that his dreams of being Speaker of House went up in flames.
