Chuck Todd is a college dropout who hails from the rightwinged hack-shop of National Journal Hotline. Let me preface this by saying: college dropout does not equal stupidity. But, in Chuck Todd's case he is stupid, and he is a college dropout.
Yesterday, stupid Chuck Todd interviewed President Obama during a segment on the failing "Meet The Press" show. It was in that interview, at timestamp 8:25, that Chuck Todd's lying, rightwinged hackery glared as Chuck Todd falsely accused President Obama of not mentioning "Syria."
(Timestamp 8:25) CHUCK TODD:
You've not said the word, "Syria," so far in our conversation...
Ok, not only is that a GD lie, it is further proof that Chuck Todd is too stupid & hackerish to rebound the failing "Meet the Press" show.
Fact is, President Obama had said the word "Syria" four times in the interview before stupid Chuck Todd accused President Obama of not mentioning the word "Syria"
From the Transcript in chronological order:
(timestamp 00:49) PRESIDENT OBAMA
... ISIL poses a broader threat because of its territorial ambitions in Iraq and Syria...
(timestamp 03:59) PRESIDNET OBAMA
... And we've seen the savagery not just in terms of how they dealt with the two Americans that had been taken hostage but the killing of thousands of innocents in-- in Iraq thousands of innocents in Syria, the kidnapping of women the complete disruption of entire villages ...
(timestamp 07:14) PRESIDENT OBAMA
... But what is absolutely clear in ISIL, which started as Al Qaeda in Iraq and arose out of the U.S. invasion there and was contained because of the enormous efforts of our troops there then shifted to Syria, has metastasized ...
Ok, so that is 3 times President Obama mentioned the word "
Syria."
But the most glaring hackery that came from Chuck Todd is when President Obama said the word "Syria" the 4th. time.
(timestamp 08:16) PRESIDENT OBAMA
We've got to do more effective diplomatic work to eliminate the the schism between Sunni and Shia that has been fueling so much of the violence in Syria, in Iraq. And so we put together a plan that is compatible with the kind of work that we're doing now.
(timestamp 08:25) CHUCK TODD You've not said the word, "Syria," so far in our conversation. Obviously, if you're going to defeat ISIS, you have used very much stronger language. It's gone through the week during your trip to Wales. You got to go to Syria in some form or another.
WTF?!?!?! President Obama had just mentioned the word "Syria"
less than 10 seconds before stupid Chuck Todd falsely accused him of not saying the word "Syria"
Honest to gawd, Chuck Todd is a stupid failure! Todd's not alone, there are so many failures on so-called "news" talk shows that it makes a person's head spin.
Chuck Todd is stupid man who is so GD incompetent he once conveyed that it is not the job of the press to expose lies Republicans tell. And that's the hack the someone at NBC thinks will be able to rebound the failing "Meet the Press." LMFAO.
I think Meet the Press would have better odds and better interviews if Bugs Bunny took over as host.
(hat tip to DKos MikeS)
UPDATE : Chuck Todd also ridiculously and falsely accused President Obama of using the term "ISIL" and not using the term "ISIS" because the President wants to avoid the word Syria. (see complete Update at the end of this diary)
As an aside:
During the interview, stupid Chuck Todd decided to slam President Obama for talking about the savage beheading of journalist James Foley while golfing -- cuz you know, Chuck Todd slammed President Bush for talking about 5 Americans getting bombed to death while he was golfing in 2002 (no, not really, Chuck Todd did not say shit about Bush golfing in 2002)
As a recap of 2002:
On July 31, 2002 a bomb exploded at Jerusalem's Hebrew University that killed seven people, 5 of them Americans. Two days later, GW Bush left Washington for his parent's home in Kennebunkport, Maine for another month-long vacation.
On August 4, 2002, another suicide bomb blew up in Israel.
On August 5, 2002, the AP outlined their video coverage of Bush while golfing and addressed the press about the suicide bombings going on in Israel.

3. SOUNDBITE: (English)
George W. Bush, US President: "Good Morning. I'm distressed to hear about the latest suicide bombers in Israel. For those who yearn for peace in the Middle East, for those in Arab lands, for those in Europe, for those all around the world who yearn for peace, we must do everything we possibly can to stop the terror. There are a few killers who want to stop the peace process that we have started and we must not let them. For the sake of humanity, for the sake of the Palestinians who suffer, for the sake of the Israelis who are under attack, we must stop the terror. I call upon all nations to do everything they can to stop these terrorist killers. Thank you.... Now, watch this (golf) drive."

On August 5, 2002, Mike Allen of the Washington Post said that President Bush had golf "rituals" when talking to the press.
Upcoming Holiday to Be No Vacation From Strife
By Mike AllenWashington Post Staff Writer
Monday, August 5, 2002; Page A02
KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine, Aug. 4 -- It's a ritual when President Bush golfs: As he gets ready to tee off, reporters toss out a few questions about the news of the day from their perches on a nearby sand trap ...
I see, so Bush had golf "rituals"
Allen went on to write:
Just over four hours before, as Bush slept at his parents' seaside retreat, a Palestinian suicide bomber blew up a bus in Israel, killing nine passengers.
Bush, wearing khakis and a knit shirt, was holding a driver in his gloved left hand. The rest of his foursome, including his father, former president George H.W. Bush, was waiting. However incongruous the setting, the president plunged ahead. "There are a few killers who want to stop the peace process that we have started, and we must not let them," he said. "I call upon all nations to do everything they can to stop these terrorist killers."
His business out of the way, Bush barely paused for breath before saying, "Thank you. Now watch this drive."
"
However incongruous the setting" ... nice.
Then Allen explains that Bush golfed a lot during 2001 and 2002
The abrupt segue illustrates the dilemma Bush will face over the next month as he relaxes and works at his ranch in Crawford, Tex., at a time of global political volatility. On Tuesday, Bush will leave Washington behind until Labor Day.
Bush golfed so much that Mike Allen called it Bush's "
golf-cart diplomacy"
That is likely to mean a return to the golf-cart diplomacy of last summer, when Bush talked Middle East peace between playing holes, at one point dripping sweat as he said Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat "can do a lot more to be convincing the people on the street to stop these acts of terrorism."
Well, you can bet ole Chuck Todd was in Bush's face about Bush's "
golf cart diplomacy." After all, Chuck Todd is so pissed that President Obama golfs that he got in Obama's face about it on his first failed MTP hosting gig.
So, I searched and searched ... nothing. Not one word from Chuck Todd about Bush's "golf cart diplomacy."
Here are some of the headlines from GW Bush's vacation schedule for the fall of 2002 but notice none are from Chuck Todd's National Journal Hotline gig.

And one suspects that if the FBI can't find the old bold Bush soon, the new clone Bush will duplicate the questionable claim to fame of the '80's Bush -- squandering unprecedented popular support earned by showing unwavering leadership in a time of crisis and then being soundly defeated in the next election because of all the dithering and pandering to special interests.

UPDATE:
During his first gig as Meet the Press host, Chuck Todd also ridiculously and falsely accused President Obama of using the term "ISIL" and avoiding the term "ISIS" because President Obama does not want to mention the word Syria.
CHUCK TODD:
Obviously we refer to it at NBC News as ISIS. The Obama administration, president says the word ISIL. The last 'S' stands for Syria, the last L they don’t want to have stand for Syria.
~Chuck Todd on Meet the Press 9/8/2014
WTF?!?!? "
they don't want to have it stand for Syria?" This guy, Chuck Todd is even dumber than I thought he was and totally fails factual geography and fails factual history.
In June, 2014, the AP explained why they, the AP, use "ISIL" and not "ISIS"
In Arabic, the group is known as Al-Dawla Al-Islamiya fi al-Iraq wa al-Sham, or the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham. The term “al-Sham” refers to a region stretching from southern Turkey through Syria to Egypt (also including Lebanon, Israel, the Palestinian territories and Jordan). The group’s stated goal is to restore an Islamic state, or caliphate, in this entire area.
~Associatedweb postune 2014 web post
The AP is correct. In Arabic the phrase is "al-Dawlet al-Islamiyyeh fi al-Iraq w
al-Sham" literally translates to the
Islamic State of (in) Iraq and the Levant. The final "S" in ISIS does not translate to Syria because the word Syria is
not in the original Arabic language.
They use the term "al-Sham" which refers to an old swatch of territory that is known in English as "the Levant." It isn't just Syria because ISIL also thinks they will control Lebanon and Palestine which are included in the ancient "al-Sham" or "the Levant."
Yes, Chuck Todd is stupid and fails geography and history.
But, to underscore the gravity of Chuck Todd's ignorance, he was talking to Andrea Mitchel and he was too stupid to hear her use the term "ISIL."
ANDREA MITCHELL:
... And he [Obama] is basically saying he outlining a war against ISIL in Iraq, based on an Iraqi army that has yet to be proved effective at all.
So if you're only going to fight them in Iraq, degrade them in Iraq, and then worry about Syria with the Syrian state army that we let down for three years, we have not armed them to their needs, how does that work? So it's a strategy, it's the clearest strategy. This is an incredible interview, in that he's laying it out point by point.
...
CHUCK TODD
Obviously we refer to it at NBC News as ISIS. The Obama administration, president says the word ISIL. The last 'S' stands for Syria, the last L they don’t want to have stand for Syria.
Ok, so Andrea Mitchell didn't get Chuck Todd's memo that "
Obviously we refer to it at NBC News as 'ISIS'"
No kidding here, it's bad enough that Chuck Todd blatantly lied when he said "You've not said the word, "Syria," so far in our conversation..." But, Chuck Todd underscores and highlights that his goal as host of the failed Meet the Press show is to simply spew false rightwinged talking points as is evidenced by Chuck Todd falsely accusing President Obama of using the term ISIL because he does not want to use the word "Syria."
What a bunch of crap!
In factual-world, President Obama uses the term ISIL is because President Obama is using the most accurate translation of the title this group has given itself.
The usage of ISIS is not the correct translation.
