I get it, there's a lot of voices on both the left and the right clamoring for a war with Iran. This is a major mistake of apocalyptic proportions and will not resolve the Iranian nuclear crisis. President Barack Obama was right from the beginning that only tough, direct diplomacy would be the only means to resolve it. He and the top brass of the military were also right in saying that a war could only knock back Iran's enrichment capabilities to set up a bomb by only a few years, but not much more than that.
To the hawks on both the left and the right, listen very carefully. In his remarks following the announcement of the deal framework, President Obama is absolutely correct in saying that this is not only a good deal, it's the best deal in making sure that Iran has no pathways to getting the bomb. And by hawks, I'm referring to Jews on the left (not all), and to Christians on the right (Evangelicals in particular, but again not all). Again, there's no military option here that will resolve the crisis, as President Obama also explains here. To shut down the hard work achieved not only by America with Iran, but also Great Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany is inviting an avenue for WWIII to start. This painstaking work proves exactly why figures like Senator Tom Cotton and Prime Minister Benjamin (Binyamin) Netanyahu were wrong, and will be wrong to clamor for military action when it's only going to do more harm than good.
