Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas married his white wife in 1971. Four years earlier, he could have been thrown into jail in Virginia for marrying outside of his race because of the Racial Integrity Act of 1924.
Why, you ask, was interracial marriage illegal? It was faith-based.
During yesterday's Supreme Court case on same-sex marriage, Obergefell v. Hodges, Thomas remained silent. Silence is not unusual for him. So be it.
But let’s face it: the arguments against Gay marriage are — just like arguments against interracial-marriage arguments were — faith-based arguments.
Should Thomas decide against Gay marriage in Obergefell v. Hodges, he should really look to what the Bible says about interracial marriage and think about what it's telling him to do, bless his heart.
