Yes, TPP has been designed to be a boring, opaque, fly-under-the-radar, FATAL corporate coup d'etat. But, let's focus all our attention of the 2016 race. Let's badger Elizabeth Warren to the point of distraction, when Sen. Warren is about the only chance we have to save our democracy from the TPP.
Can we get out of "permanent campaign" mode long enough to recognize that the TPP is the silver bullet to the heart of democracy? It is almost two years until the election; way before then, the TPP will be passed out of the rabidly rightwing HR and will come to the Senate. Obama has pushed the TPP for six years. He is going to sign it.
The only chance to stop the TPP is in the Senate. Warren is the de facto leader of the progressives. Can people please get their priorities straight here?
If, big if, Warren leads a successful opposition to the TPP, there would be plenty of time for her to change her mind - especially if Hillary goes all in in favor of the TPP. If they make a big deal about Warren stopping the Tim Horton's guy, just wait until she stops the TPP.
One day at a time, people.
That's my diary.
