Former U.S. Representative Aaron Schock has been billed $76,000 for the special elections to replace him, reports the Chicago Tribune.
The Marshall County Board (Illinois) reportedly voted to bill Schock for the cost of choosing his replacement and sent Schock a letter asking for a certified check or an agreement to pay.
This isn't likely to be a hardship for Schock, despite his spending on Downton Abbey decor and other questionable uses of campaign and public funds, for which he faces a federal investigation.
The Tribune notes he has the spare change.
Schock has about $3.3 million remaining in his campaign fund.
Marshall County State's Attorney Paul Bauer says that's "more money than the county has in its reserves."
