The US Congress is just full of GOP macho men, it seems. Among them is California Representative Steve Knight of CA's 25th District.
From The New Civil Rights Movement:
Freshman Republican U.S. Congressman Steve Knight of California was caught on video engaged in a conversation on the street with a few constituents who were protesting his vote on an immigration bill.
The video begins with the Congressman shaking the hand of one protestor, whom he calls Mike. The handshake does seem a bit long, but as Mike moves back into the crowd, he warmly pats the Congressman's shoulder, almost in a paternal manner, and that's when Knight drops into thug mode.
"You told me you didn’t vote for amnesty and you did. I looked it up on the Internet. You lied to me,” Mike says.
"Okay Mike, hey," Rep. Knight says, leaning in, "If you touch me again, I'll drop your ass."
Well, that should certainly win him more votes. Not! The man simply patted you on the shoulder, Rep. Knight. Get a grip, man.
And, from Wikipedia:
He supported Proposition 8,[3] which was ruled unconstitutional by SCOTUS on June 26, 2013.[4] Knight opposed bi-lingual education in a mostly latino populated city[5] and voted against the images of the Confederate flag being removed from state property.[6] Knight has consistently voted against an increase of minimum wage, gun control with semi-automatic weapons and water regulations for the city.[7] He currently lives in Palmdale with his wife Lily and two children.
