My first of hopefully many diaries. Please be kind..
I will no longer dignify those that want to call themselves pro-lifers and will, instead, call them what they are...anti-abortionists.
After seeing the latest from Matt Schaefer, I'm even more adamant.
My first comment is, how dare you tell me what I can or can't do with my body. You don't own me. Slavery isn't legal in the US but here you are, dictating to me what I can and can't do with my health.
The hoops women have to jump through to get an abortion in some states are insane and now they want to make it worse. In North Dakota, the ONLY place you can get a legal abortion is in Fargo. That's in the southeast corner of the state, 3 hours from Bismarck, 5 hours from Minot. A waiting period in that state would be a severe hardship to say the least.
I actually came up with a good comment for these men that are trying to dictate to women.
More below the squiggly.
This is now going to be my reply to these men that are trying to dictate to me.
Do you have a uterus? Do you have a vagina? Are you a medical doctor or a nurse practitioner? If none of the above, you have no say in what a woman decides to do with her body. The 13th amendment outlawed slavery, but here you go, trying to say what I can and can't do with MY body. I'm not your slave and you have no rights over my body. So, until such time as you acquire the proper body parts or have acquired the proper medical degrees, you are talking about things you don't know about so just shut up.
Women are not children that need a parent to tell them what's best for them. We are grown-ups that can make informed decisions for ourselves. We don't need these patriarchal assholes to tell us what is an isn't good for us.
