Beta now has another series of fixes and enhancements ready for you to check out. It’s an odd grab-bag; please check the list for the full rundown. Thanks for your continued testing- the feedback has been really helpful so far!
Enhancements:
- WYSIWYG: Image attributions are now shown in the story-editor and comments.
- WYSIWYG: The story time-tracker ("12 days ago" in the story intro) has been removed.
- Cancel button for top and bottom (non-reply) comment box now functional (just throws away contents)
- All timestamps are now shown in your local time.
- Emojis now render in story and comment editors when you type the :shortcodes:
- We now display emojis using the set provided by your operating system.
- When a comment is folded, images and embeds will have [image] and [embed] as placeholders, respectively.
- The community dropdown has been re-ordered as follows: Recommended, Most Shared, Recent Diaries, Community Spotlight, Groups.
- General refinements to comment subject: only first line from comment is displayed, repeated spaces are removed, [image] placeholder is shown only when comment has no text.
- When the comment cancel button is clicked, we'll display a confirmation before clearing comments. We also added the comment cancel button for top-level comments.
- Further refinement to whitespace between lines.
- When HTML with empty tags ('') is copied to the clipboard, pasting into the story+comment editor no longer inserts unwanted tags.
Bugfixes:
- Typing '--' into the story/comment editor will change into an em-dash, not an en-dash.
- The order of stories in a blog is now based on the time it was published to the blog, not the time the story was authored.
- When images are uploaded to the image library, the original image is now accessible under original.
- Visiting a link to a comment no longer adds an extra history-page to your back button - Safari and Firefox only.
- Images that were uploaded to the image library long ago cannot be used as the primary image in a story. The image library now notifies you of this instead of failing silently.
- When the primary story image caption is filled with long unbroken text, it no longer stretches the image.
- It's now possible to post a comment consisting of only an image or embed
