There’s a lengthy article on The Oregonian website describing
Oregon occupation planned for months by Ammon Bundy and Montana militia leader
and it’s sobering, to say the least. I fear we’re going to see a page has been turned, largely because the group has been given so much latitude.
Bundy and Ryan Payne seem to have gone rogue in not abiding by Hammond’s rejection of help once things got real. They did in deed case the joint while in the area the last couple of months and not entirely unnoticed. There is a lot there. While I don’t trust anything Bundy tells the press, they interviewed local and Federal officials too. There’s really no excuse for them to have been caught off guard given Bundy’s history. Sheriff Ward, Greg Walden, and all the other people who are essentially giving approval of this should note a comment by someone who initially rejected the occupation but is now impressed. The last sentence of the article:
This is history here. It shows the government that we made the government and if they don't get smart very soon, we might dissolve that government.
