Woo hoo, did my civic duty and voted early in Fairfax County Virginia. I believe it was Rugbymom who wants us to put in an I voted sticker for the avatar so we can check to see how many votes have been banked already for Hillary, which I did, thanks MOM!
Had to go to the Government Center to do it, but it was so worth it. So proud to cast my vote for Hillary for President and even though he was running unopposed, Gerry Connolly for Representative. So disappointed I couldn’t vote for LuAnn Bennett for Representative and throw that bum Comstock out. Only off by a few lights down Reston Parkway from being able to do that.
Overall it was a nice and quick experience. They not only have reserved parking spots for people to park on their way to vote but also have areas for curbside voting You do have numbers to call ahead to make arrangements I assume. The people in the office were very nice and helpful to all. I noticed a bunch of people voting early for the first time. And it seemed kind of busy on a Tuesday afternoon, you had a table set up to fill out the early voting application and you had around 10 when I got there, a line about 7 to get the form processed and you had about a dozen voting booths with 8 people in them when I arrived. I asked the registrar person and she said that it has been busy like this since they started. Not huge crowds but a good steady stream of people coming in, not a whole lot of dead time from what she said. Good sign. For all you Fairfax residents you can vote at the Government Center during the weekdays and on Saturdays. You have voting times during the weekends at the various satellite offices around the county which was documented by wvmcl earlier this week I believe. Starting October 17 I believe the weekday voting also moves to the satellite offices as well.
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 5 IS THE LAST DAY TO VOTE ABSENTEE IN PERSON!
