Seriously. What good does it do to circle back and I-told-you-so? And this is from a Sanders supporter. You think I don’t feel Sanders would have won this? But what’s the point in kicking everyone while they’re down? Especially since the people you’re kicking are the same people we’ll need to set this right over the next 4 years.
You can spare me the You Have To Admit The Problem Exists speech. You think these people don’t know there’s a problem? They’re being crushed by it right now. And even if they had no clue, “Bernie woulda won” is not a solution, a suggestion for a solution, or anything remotely resembling an idea for the future. It’s re-litigating the past. It’s an I-told-you-so based on a hypothetical outcome that will never exist, because this is the outcome we’re stuck with.
Now, if you want to talk about how the Democratic Party needs to take a long, hard look at itself, or about how the Establishment/center/Third-Way/blah blah blah needs to step aside or change or whatever you think will make this difference in the next few years, I’m all for it. But this boorish heckling is pointless, self-serving, cruel, and stupid.
You can also spare me the But They Were Mean To Me speech. Grow up. “He started it” is not an excuse to be an ass.
Just stop it. The future needs better ideas. Neener-neener is not one of them.
