I am disappointed that Senator Bernie Sanders has said the Hilary Clinton is not qualified to be President. As a Bernie supporter and pretty vocal partisan here, I find it, personally, to be an extremely inaccurate and untrue thing to say, even in the heat of the biggest primary yet, New York. I feel that Bernie is wrong on this, and many Bernie supporters agree that Sec. Clinton IS qualified to be President, even if we disagree with her policies and inclinations in public life. I have said that should either one be the nominee, I will vote for the Democrat in the race regardless of what has been said, claimed or proven. Both are infinitely better than any Republican on the scene today.
So what is a Bernie Sanders supporter to do with this disagreement? I am hoping he rolls this back in definite terms, by saying he misspoke, was wrong to say it or even suggest it, and apologizes for the comment. It was not in the tradition of Democratic Presidential politics, and despite the white-hot passions stirred up by this primary fight, everyone should be allowed a misstatement or mistake, as long as it is understood that on our side, we recognize human mistakes and move on.
I continue to support Bernie, not so much for this, but in spite of it. Every candidate on the stump this year has said or implied wrong information, and it is just in the nature of an 18 month primary season. I forgave Hilary for being angry at a Greenpeace volunteer. Ok, I have been angry at things like that, said things in the heat of speaking, and I have apologized. I think its not too late to just extend the hand of generosity, and return to the issues which we all agree are the most important part of this election; fair pay, fair jobs, fair government, fair justice system and fair elections. I think we advance the cause of fairness best by being fair as Democrats to each other.
