I’m not all that surprised that the Kurds are getting thrown under the bus again, but I must say that it is terribly, terribly disappointing to see Vice President Biden committing the act:
Standing next to Prime Minister Binali Yildirim in the Turkish capital of Ankara, Biden said on Wednesday that U.S. aid for the Kurdish militant group YPG would be stopped if it didn’t comply. Syrian Kurds have been seeking to link enclaves they control along the frontier with Turkey, which Ankara fears will embolden Turkey’s own restive Kurds.
“We’ve made it absolutely clear" to the YPG that “they must move back across the river,” Biden said. "They cannot — will not — under any circumstance get American support if they do not keep that commitment.”

Is Joe just making gaffes again or does this mean that we are siding with the Islamist, authoritarian Erdogan regime that has supported ISIL, is now invading Northern Syria together with other Islamist groups, and is committing horrible human rights abuses against Kurds and others in Turkey over the egalitarian, multi-ethnic, secular group that has done more to defeat ISIL than all others and recently gave hundreds of lives to liberate ISIL's second capitol in Syria?
If that is truly where we’re going with this, count me out. We will have zero moral authority to criticize Russia over their annexation of Crimea and invasion of eastern Ukraine or China over their squatting of reefs in the West Philippine Sea if we go along with this.
