Quick hit to say that I am just so proud of Hillary the last few days and the last few weeks. I realize the stakes are existential and that she doesn’t want us to sit back and think “She’s got this,” but I feel very reassured. She has behaved so honorably since going into the convention. This is the best of what we’ve become used to from Obama and this standard was set by something overt but undefinable that Bill Clinton had about him in his second term. Real leadership. In Bill’s case, of the world. And of the budget. Both leads were squandered by 8 years of Republican leadership. So the stakes are so high and we can’t take a She’s-got-this attitude but her hands are firm. The same great lady who turned herself out for 9/11 will keep pushing herself for all of us and we can count on that. Beyond her personal idiosyncrasies, THAT is a public servant.
I’m counting on her campaign to know what we need to do to turn out the vote and I believe they’ve already started on my block in Pasadena. We will have to pitch in but OMG is she great at getting things done. I’m from the Bernie side and she has made me happy. Mostly happy with her sense of honor. But beyond all that, happy with her. She is different from any other candidate I’ve ever known.
Sorry to be so brief. I really had to say this tonight. It’s a different sensation than I anticipated. And I hope to give her a “hard time” when she is in office for my issues. <3
