I am running for Assembly District Delegate in California’s District 41. The hyperlink will take you to a district map — this is the northeastern portion of L.A. County. The District extends from La Canada/Flintridge to Pomona, one of the largest in land area.
I was a full-throated supporter of Bernie Sanders in the primary campaign; I make no bones about that. I was thrilled with the opportunity to cast a ballot for the man who put forward a flat-out progressive agenda with no punches pulled. I met hundreds of younger voters and spoke to thousands more around the nation as Bernie’s campaign gained steam. They not only felt the same enthusiasm for a bold inclusive agenda, they were out of their seats and hit the ground running. When it became necessary to make the switch to our nominee, these cadres were decimated. You may not like that truth but it is a fact. (my oldest daughter supported Hillary from day one and she will readily confess this is the case among her cohorts, however much it annoys her- she never had issues with Bernie’s objectives, just found them to be ‘unrealistic’ or ‘undoable’ and she wanted to vote for a woman president)
I say let’s stick with the bold stuff. We will always be in conflict with the protectors of big business at the GOP and they will not roll over with a compromise under any circumstances, regardless of soundness. They will say ‘no’ in any event because, traditionally, they count on the Dems to fold. The GOP is correct, their opponents often do. In light of this reality, why do we give them moderate requests at the gate? That will always necessitate a rightward move for compromise and compromise is the supposed endgame. It’s nuts that Democrats have moved away even from the starting line. Let’s begin with what we want, at least. I have lost my ability to process “We can’t, they won’t let us.” Excuse me? We can. We will move as though we are genuine progressives and at least put it on the table.
Help me and my team blow the dust off of the ossified Party. My primary issues of focus are, Climate Change, Public Education, Women’s Issues, Single Payer Healthcare, and Voting Rights. I have a laundry list of other issues, of course, but first things first. I did prioritize with the areas of greatest concern and those about which I am very well informed. We’ve got to get out there with our sisters and brothers with our message. No easy chairs now, we need to be finished with that. I am.
Please vote for me and all of the candidates on my slate if you are in the district. If you are not currently registered as a Democrat, you may change your registration at the caucus, vote, and go on your way. I will fight for all of us, you can count on that.
I am one of the candidates for Democratic Delegate for Assembly District 41 prominently illustrated on my graphic. We are NOT running for the Assembly seat, we are running for representation of our local district in the DEMOCRATIC PARTY. I thought the graphic made this clear but it seems I was mistaken. I want people to vote for everyone listed, however. There are slots for 7 female reps and 7 males. I know every one of these people and I am positive they have been and will continue to remain ACTIVE.
