A little roundup from a couple of Republican sites:
From “The Bull Elephant”:
(Steve Albertson): There will be lots of recriminations coming, many of them angry. For now, I think we as Republicans all need to spend some time thinking about what it means to be a Republican in the era of Trump, and what sort of fundamental house cleaning we need to to.
You certainly do need to spend some time thinking about that.
(Steve Thomas): Perhaps next time people will listen when I tell them that turnout numbers in certain areas are meaningful.
Oh, my God. Don’t think I’ve ever heard anything like this from the other side.
(Steve Thomas): This is a f**ing Greek tragedy. Thanks Establishment Ed, for leading us into this disaster.
“Establishment Ed.” All those racist ads were from the establishment. Got it.
From Redstate (no links plz):
Yes...this proves that the traditional, conventional Republican coalition cannot win elections in VA by themselves. The corporatist Eric Cantor Republicans have to make a decision. Do they continue the Republican Civil War and ride it into electoral irrelevance...or do they FINALLY begin to reach out to conservatives with a decent power-sharing arrangement?
Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have made it very easy for the media to attack them. It is ridiculous how incompetent those two have been at governing. Trump is not blameless, but I really don't think our Speaker or Senate Majority Leader have been helpful.
And savor this:
This is just the beginning. We're going to see a lot more of this in 12 months.
The GOP will likely keep the Senate, but I've been saying for months that we're going to see a Democratic takeover of the House in 2018.
Let’s make them lose sleep about keeping the Senate in 2018.
