I just sent this to Mr. Coffman. In this case, an Aye vote blocked the resolution to examine the tax returns. Feel free to send something similar to your Republican representative who voted Aye.
Heading: I wish to see President Trump's tax returns.
Text: I disagree with your Aye vote on ROLL CALL 101.
"The American people have the right to know whether or not their president is operating under conflicts of interest related to international affairs, tax reform, government contracts or otherwise". Especially now with the allegations of Russian interference in the election. Trump's civil liberties are important, but must concede to transparency in our democracy.
Nearly 1.1 million people have already signed a White House petition demanding the immediate release of Trump’s tax returns.
Trump had promised to release his tax return if he ever ran for president. Why not now?
The resolution was introduced by Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee. Under a 1924 law, the Ways and Means Committee is empowered to examine tax returns. The committee could then decide to release them to the full Congress, effectively making them public.
