Video footage of press conference here.A coalition of more than a dozen Arizona organizations fighting for the vulnerable in Arizona held a press event Monday at CIL Ability 360 in protest of sweeping Medicaid cuts that would harm everyone from people with disabilities receiving in-home care(Like me...waves) to people struggling with addiction, women and seniors<br>.
Mayor Stanton gave a rousing speech about how bad this would be for Arizona and Senator Gallego’s district Director also attended. I was especially moved by Sergio Rodriguez account(which I watched via livestream, of what it felt like to start as a young man with one kind of life, than end up with another when he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at 25.(Maybe Republicans cover their fear with harshness, but it seems like the fragility of human life is something they’ve lost touch with in all of their years of power and influence.) We deserve better from our elected officials.
A lot has been said about responsibility lately but what about our leaders’ responsibility to a less-powerful public?
