CIL video of me talking about Medicaid
I’ve thought a lot about what I’d say if I got a few minutes. Some of it is definitely in this video, but face-to-face, I think I might make the details more...elemental, because, as the book says, “Everybody poops.” Maybe he would relate more if he understood how often a simple bodily function(Or not getting help for it because it happens when someone is not around) have defined my day in the past. I’ve had many days ruined that way, even with support in place, and without it there could be many more.Which, in itself, is not an epic struggle, just like I know I’m not going to save the programs that matter just by writing this(although I wish, even if that would make it hard to be a sweet and humble human being) but I think we all get a choice, to help, or to harm. Flake, despite trying to make morality one of his central messages, seems poised to hurt vulnerable people and make difficult paths harder. His worry about a primary challenge is leading him to choose pain for others.
Nobody chooses to be impaired or chooses to get sick, but we all want to live the best that we can.
