Senator Kamala Harris delivered another fantastic public appearance as she sat down with one of the toughest, smartest interviewers around, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. I never quite understand how there remain people who seem surprised with Kamala’s grasp of the facts and her ability to present them in such a clear way that’s not only understandable, but with a sincerity and focused conviction that’s, frankly, a bit frightening.
That’s just who she is. That’s who she’s always been.
If I ever found myself, heaven forbid, on the receiving end of that glare, or her prosecutorial prowess, I know that I would be frightened!
I have a very strong suspicion that we’ll soon be planning another BarrBQ…
Rachel led off with Senator Harris’ letter dated May 3, to DOJ Inspector General Horowitz concerning Barr’s appearance before the Judiciary Committee. It’s everything we’ve come to expect from the next President of the United States.
Here are the parts Rachel highlighted:
Dear Inspector General Horowitz:
I write to express grave concern about the independence of the Department of Justice under the leadership of the Attorney General William Barr… On May1, Attorney General Barr appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee to discuss the conclusion of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
In response to my questions during the hearing, Attorney General Barr proved unable or unwilling to state whether he had been instructed to open investigations at the request or suggestion of the President or other White House officials — an alarming response that strikes at the very heart of the rule of law and threatens to undermine the longstanding independence of the Justice Department...
In light of the disturbing conduct documented in the Special Counsel’s report, as well as Attorney General Barr’s failure to demonstrate his own independence from the President on such matters, I urge the office of Inspector General to investigate whether the Attorney General has received or acted upon requests or suggestions, whether implied or explicit, to investigate the President’s percieved enemies…
Sincerely,
KAMALA D. HARRIS
United States Senator

Group Guidelines
The Kamala2020 community group has been created to positively support Senator Kamala Harris, and not to engage in negativity towards other community members or any other Democrats running in the 2020 primaries.
All should be made to feel welcomed here. What’s not welcomed here is petty bickering over any of our preferred candidates, or personal attacks on fellow Democrats. We’re not responsible for the actions of others who may offend, insult or attempt to sow discord and disunity — that’s on them.
What we are responsible for are our own words and actions — that’s 100% on us.
I’d like to ask all group members, as well as all those dropping by who support or are interested in Kamala’s bid for the nomination, that we not respond to negativity from other campaign’s supporters with negativity. Let’s do better than our best and respond with respect, or hold our peace. Doing no harm costs us nothing... pie-fights will cost us everything.
Let’s be as gracious as Kamala is toward the other candidates in the race!
🧡 Let’s have a great Saturday and be joyful! 🧡
