This is a clear visual. This link will take you to the now-familiar Johns, Hopkins U “Covid dashboard” website that has a bunch of graphs and other info. In the lower right corner I see the “graph of time v total worldwide cases”, which I’ve been watching since it was well under a million. It’s pushing 7 million right now, and that graph curve, which had been holding pretty steady as a progression for the past almost 2 months has, in the past 2 weeks taken a noticeable turn upwards, towards more cases sooner. Another chart there shows US deaths at over 109,000 as of this evening.
It’s very visible if you hold a straight edge against the flat lower part of the curve. Observe the deviation upwards. That’s likely the second wave gathering now that restrictions are being relaxed, exactly as the xperts have been predicting.
I’m sure there exist similar graphs of time x cases and also time x deaths for just the US, but I haven’t seen one yet.
