There is a poll right now in the CIVIQS area of the front page that is phrased completely ambiguously.
The question apparently was
How concerned are you about a coronavirus outbreak in your local area?
I would NEVER have let my students get away with such careless expression. This could easily mean either:
“How worried are you that a coronavirus outbreak might come to your area in the {near} future?”
OR
“How worried are you that the coronavirus outbreak that is already in your area might infect you?”
The question could be asking whether you worry that the virus might come to your area, or whether you worry about the virus that has come to your area affecting you.
CIVIQS people! Please ask your questions more precisely!
Thank you.
