The following is a social media thread that was sent to me. I took the individual posts and put them together in a scrolling text video.
This person, Josh Weed, is a psychologist and he talks about how his clients react to the grief of losing their beloved pets. He talks about how for some people, pet loss is a HUGE loss and the grief can be crushing.
People who have had pet loss with special animal friends will understand.
I hope that people who think pet loss is trivial, “It’s just a cat”, “it’s just a dog”, “Get over it” or “Stop being so gloomy” will understand, at least a little, why it can take days, weeks or months to heal.
