Today’s mass shooting is brought to us by a rifle-toting 23 year-old white male (sounds all too familiar, right?) in Louisville, Kentucky. This latest outrage may produce some traction for sensible gun safety legislation and regulation because the dead are not school children, but bank executives and employees whose friends include notable political leaders.
I can hardly wait for tonight’s chorus from our “inactive politicians.”
1. Now is not the time for a political debate.
2. Thoughts and prayers. (Except no prayers of repentance for being tools of a murderous industry, or thoughts about what sensible representatives of the people ought to do in the name of public safety)
3. Guns are not the problem; shooters (people) are the problem (but let’s make guns accessible to all the people, everywhere, all the time.)
