Still no word about penalizing the oil companies, et al for their profiteering after the shutdown was relaxed, much less the continuing profiteering going on now. Telling them that they WILL reduce their prices, or the excess profits will go to the government to aid in supporting the folks who aren’t making it on their own right now MAY wake them to the fact that “We The People” are not going to take much more.
I find it interesting (see what I did there?) that Big Business and Big Government work together to support Business rather than the populace. Or, you might restate that to say, “Big Government, as represented by the Federal Reserve, demonstrably works FOR Big Business to maximize their profits while ignoring the fiscal needs of the citizenry.”
Democratic legislation to call them on it and also to halt hedge fund real estate flippers will be killed by the bought and paid for legislators, but elections bring out opportunities to change that formula. A pissed off electorate is an engaged electorate. Vote like your life depended on the outcome — it does. Oh, and the next ten or twenty generations’ lives do too.
