. . . is the organization you are recommending able to accept tax deductible contributions? Is it a 501(c)(3) for does it have a partner organization, often a foundation or a scholarship fund, that can accept them?
I try to support candidates and organizations highlighted by Daily Kos through ActBlue. I also have to take distributions from my IRA. These distributions can be used to reduce taxable income by donating them to 501(c)(3) entities. I usually research an organization to see if it is a 501(c)(3) or if it has a 501(c)(3) affiliate. However, I occasionally miss that and end up donating though ActBlue instead of going the tax saving route of using an IRA distribution.
So, a small request, let us know if there is an opportunity to support the cause via donating to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
