Color me thick, but I just realized how much the six Injustices on the Supreme Court are motivated by stark, brain-freezing terror of a caricature of the rest of us, supposedly out to destroy all real freedom and liberty in the name of human rights. In fact, that’s what the Federalist Society picks them for.
Law schools and the legal profession are currently strongly dominated by a form of orthodox liberal ideology which advocates a centralized and uniform society. While some members of the academic community have dissented from these views, by and large they are taught simultaneously with (and indeed as if they were) the law.
Justice Clarence Thomas, U.S. Supreme Court, said
“[T]his organization has played an important part in sparking a dialogue between lawyers and judges, and even at times amongst judges themselves...by assiduously avoiding the temptation to take positions, or to lobby and engage in political advocacy. Resisting that temptation takes discipline, I am sure, but rest assured that you have made the right choice and are providing a genuine and unique service in so doing. Stay the course!”
I am not going to try to count the lies in that statement. Most of us here are somewhat aware of how much they lied in their Senate confirmation hearings.
We know how Thomas came to loathe the NAACP and all actions to assist African-Americans with the systemic racism in US society, especially Affirmative Action. We also know that he was put on the Supreme Court as a reward for quashing all enforcement when he headed the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
I need to study the others in more detail, and report to you on them all.

A Big, Bold Clean Up Washington Agenda, Trump's Terrible April, Do More And Worry Less
I think Joe Biden and the Democrats need to develop and campaign on a big “reform Washington” agenda that attacks the corruption of the Trump era. This has become far more urgent after yesterday’s Supreme Court hearing where MAGA Justices allowed a serious conversation about undoing what was perhaps the central goal of the Founders - preventing a President from becoming a King.

World Bank, Gates, UN pledge close to $600m to end cervical cancer
The scientists analysed the behaviour of an old giant star in the constellation Aquila, located 1,926 light-years from Earth. Based on its orbital motion, it was determined that it was in a binary system with a dormant black hole with a very high mass, estimated to be 33 times greater than the mass of the Sun. It was named Gaia BH3.
This result is a record among stellar-mass black holes in the Milky Way. The previous record holder was the black hole in the X-ray binary system Cygnus X-1, with a mass about 20 times that of the Sun. The typical mass of stellar-mass black holes in our galaxy is about 10 solar masses.
