That little shit Paul Ryan is coming to Portland Monday to ask corporations and other people for an investment in lower taxes for them and higher taxes for the middle class and below.
Security concerns dictate that the area around the venue be cleared of people, and Ryan is speaking and accepting large donations at the Governor Hotel in Downtown Portland.
This also happens to be across the street and catty-corner from a large concentration of food carts, low-margin businesses that provide workers with inexpensive, delicious lunches - exactly the kind of businesses that Romney and Ryan want to shut down.
And they will shut them down - at least for one day. When Mitt Romney came to the Governor Hotel in June, the Secret Service ordered the carts shut down, a blow to these small-margin small businesses.
The solution? What's called a "cash mob". Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR-3) has encouraged people to eat at the over 65(!!) food carts in the lots bounded by 9th/10th/Washington/Alder and 10th/11th/Washington/Alder tomorrow, Friday, September 7 to offset the loss of business caused by that little shit begging for money across the street.
Throw a dart onto a world map, and you can find a cuisine served at these food carts - from Polish to Cuban to Hawaiian to as many Thai carts as in downtown Bankgok - and most of them are $5-8 for food better than most sit-down restaurants.
4:01 PM PT: UPDATE: The food carts will be open on Monday during Ryan's visit! More details here.
